Announcing the 2010-11 CHASE Science Program
CHASE Academy is proud to announce our 2010/11 MS/HS science program. This is a 30 week Christian program. All classes are open to participating as well as non-participating members. We offer a rigorous academic program taught by qualified instructors.
Lisa Brown is a Registered Nurse who graduated from Lancaster General School of Nursing and Millersville University. She has been a nurse in Maternal Child Health since 1989 and is an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) and certified Lamaze International childbirth educator. Currently she works at The Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center in the Neonatal Intensive care unit / Lactation Consultant in Lititz. Additionally she works with Lebanon Valley Midwifery and Womens Wellness assisting with homebirths and teaching breastfeeding classes. Lisa has been homeschooling for ten years and teaches MS Zoology III and MS/HS Health presently and has taught various other classes at CHASE including life science, anatomy and physiology, writing, and math. She also coordinates the girls basketball team for the co-op.
Tanya Caporaletti attended Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC, majoring in Biology before moving to Lancaster and continuing her education at HACC. She has home schooled both her daughters since 2000. This is her second year at CHASE Academy and is looking forward to the rewarding challenge of teaching Life Science.
Cathy Mangini holds an Associate Science Degree in Veterinary Technology from Harcum Jr. College and a B.S. in Biology from Elizabethtown College. She has been employed for over 20 years in science related positions. She has been a home schooling mom for eight years and been member of CHASE for seven years. She has taught classes all seven years at CHASE. This year she teaches E3/4 Zoology I and HS Biology.
Chris Ratcliff holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Shippensburg University. She has been employed at Lancaster Laboratories for the past 22 years in various technical and supervisory roles. She has been a homeschooling mom for seven years and taught various science classes at CHASE Academy during that time. This year, Chris will teach MS Earth and Space and HS Chemistry.
Barb Weaver holds a B.S. in Biology from Guilford College. She has worked in both the science and the science education industries for over 25 years. She was employed at various companies, including DuPont and Carolina Biological Supply Company. She has worked at Lancaster Labs for the past 19 years. She has been home schooling her three sons for the past four years, and enjoys teaching science at CHASE. This year she teaches E3/4 Science and MS/HS Physical World.
